Illustrations for Bodyworlds

In early 2025, BODY WORLDS Heidelberg approached me for revisiting a concept we had worked on before- Taking their iconic plastinations and recreating them in more playful, abstract illustrations. While most of the illustrations are based on actual exhibits, the yoga pose and guitarist are original concepts.

The most interesting challenge for this project was anatomy, since these plastinations don't just expose muscles, they expose different layers of anatomy. Simplifying that anatomy while preserving the original purpose was challenging but satisfying to pull off.

In late 2018, I made a few illustrations for Bodyworlds in a similar, cartoony style. Back then, I scanned in the inked illustrations and painted them in Photoshop. For this project, I recreated the inked linework digitally.
